Archaeotherium Fossil

This fossil skull belongs to Archaeotherium, an extinct entelodont often referred to as a “hell pig,” though it was not closely related to modern pigs. Archaeotherium lived during the late Eocene to early Oligocene and was one of the dominant large land mammals of its time.

Known for its massive skull, powerful jaws, and large canine teeth, Archaeotherium was an omnivore with strong bone-crushing capabilities.
